AI and my first post.

This is my second post.

My first post is not mine. My first post was written by AI using an article I wrote for the ISTC website, which will be published next Tuesday on 26th August 2025. I have not edited what AI produced from my article. I invite you to visit the ISTC website, read my article, and decide for yourself. It seems to be AI is here to stay. Shouldn't we talk about the ethical use of AI instead of fearing it. Shouldn't we talk about how to ensure that AI becomes a tool to enhance human experience?

Despite becoming repetitive, I would like you to remember that I wrote the original article but not my first post. In the words of the machine, I simply fed it the information and asked it to produce a blog post, as I had never written one before.

There is constant talk about AI and how it may impact our lives and our work. I recently upgraded my phone and discovered that AI is integrated into every single app and system on it.

My phone does far more than make and receive calls. It enables me to have face-to-face conversations with my loved ones, and to work on the go by accessing my home computer via the cloud. My old phone also could do all these things, the big difference is that now AI is present in every one of these processes. For a moment, I felt like panicking, and '1984' came to mind.

Then I decided to put on my 'big girl’s pants' and learn about the possibilities of AI and how to use it to my advantage. I now set up reminders, manage calendars, organise links, and more using the AI that came with my phone. I do monitor what my artificial friend does. I like 'Data' in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but I think we are a long way from that, or the reality presented by Blade Runner.

For my part, I am still learning, but the possibilities and power found in a small piece of technology such as a smartphone seem endless.
